Irakli Maghlakelidze

Urban Planner

Master of Architecture, Georgian Technical University

An architect, urban planner, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist, as well as an artist. He was born on October 30, 2001, in Batumi, Georgia. He obtained his higher education in Tbilisi at the Georgian Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree and is currently continuing his studies at the Master’s level. He began his professional career in 2022 and has since been involved in a number of spatial and urban planning projects across Georgia. His work includes both the narrative and analytical components of planning documentation, as well as technical and graphical tasks, combining data analysis, GIS-based mapping, and the production of visual materials. He has contributed to projects at City Institute Georgia, including the preparation of spatial development and urban regulation documentation for Batumi Municipality, the spatial development plan for several administrative units in Mtskheta and Dusheti municipalities and their surrounding areas, and the preparation and update of the General Plan and Development Plan of Borjomi. Within these projects, he participated in research and visioning phases and later contributed to the concept stage, focusing on zoning, regulatory frameworks, spatial constraints analysis, and map preparation. He was also involved in planning and visually representing development measures aligned with project goals and strategic visions. He is currently working on the General Plan of Poti, development regulation documentation, and the Detailed Development Plan of the Maltakva district, while also contributing to the preparation of the Mukhrani Valley Spatial Development Plan.
